Jamison Crowder cleared to practice

The Jets were able to exhale Tuesday after wide receiver Jamison Crowder was cleared to return to practice, one day after an injury scare.

Crowder left Monday’s practice after injuring his left foot. Crowder limped off the field and was examined by team trainers and doctors before heading inside early. Jets coach Adam Gase said later that Crowder would undergo an MRI exam and other tests on the foot.

Apparently, there were no issues. The team announced Tuesday afternoon that Crowder had been medically cleared and is expected to practice Wednesday. The Jets had a day off from practice Tuesday.

Crowder, who signed a three-year, $28.5 million contract with the Jets in March, has had an impressive start to training camp and looks as if he will be a major piece of the offense as the slot receiver. Just before the injury Monday, he made a nice 40-yard touchdown catch on which he got behind the defense and connected with Sam Darnold.

The Jets signed OL Ryan Anderson and CB Dee Delaney. They waived LB Jeff Allison and OL Toa Lobendahn. Anderson played center at Wake Forest and was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in the spring before getting cut last week. Delaney played in two games for the Jaguars last year before ending the season on the practice squad with the Dolphins.
