Packers claim RB Darrin Hall off waivers
The Green Bay Packers have claimed RB Darrin Hall off of waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals and released G Larry Williams. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transactions Tuesday.
Hall, a 6-foot, 217-pound rookie out of the University of Pittsburgh, was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 3 but was released on May 6 and claimed off of waivers by the Bengals. In college, he played in 48 games with eight starts for Pitt, recording 381 carries for 2,189 yards (5.7 avg.) and 21 touchdowns while catching 38 passes for 267 yards (7.0 avg.) and a TD. In 2018, Hall registered career-highs in carries (153), rushing yards (1,144), yards-per-rush (7.48) and rushing TDs (10). His yards-per-carry average of 7.48 set a school single-season record, topping Tony Dorsett’s 6.6 in 1975 (minimum 1,000 yards gained). Hall will wear No. 34 for the Packers.
Williams was signed by the Packers on May 3 as undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State.
